THE CENTER FOR STUDENT SUCCESS

The New Jersey Center for Student Success, established in October 2012 by the New Jersey Council of County Colleges, works with the state's 18 community colleges to improve student outcomes, strengthen services to students, and serve as a statewide resource for innovation and best practices. 


Working with New Jersey’s 18 community colleges, the Center fosters COLLABORATION and facilitates COMMUNICATION by CONVENING campus leaders, all for the purpose of promoting COHERENCE, CONTINUITY, and CATALYTIC CHANGE on statewide student success initiatives.


The Center received national acclaim when it was awarded a two-year, $500,000 grant from the Kresge Foundation in 2014 and invited to join the National Student Success Center Network. In addition to New Jersey, the National Student Success Center Network consists of Student Success Centers in Arkansas, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin. The National Student Success Center Network is organized by Jobs for the Future, a policy-based organization located in Boston and Washington, D.C. The New Jersey Center for Student Success is a leader in the National Student Success Center Network.

The New Jersey Center for Student Success is located at the New Jersey Council of County Colleges offices in Trenton. Jacob Farbman, Ed.D., APR serves as the Center's Executive Director.
